2019 availability

I am taking an indefinite break from practice starting May 2019. I may be available for limited online sessions later in 2019.

If you would like to work on something specific (e.g., sleep, work-related stress) or contained (i.e., you are interested in single-session or “ultra brief therapy” which is academic-speak for 2-4 sessions) then reach out to set something up. If you need help finding another sleep person, let me know.

Consultations

I am available on Thursdays.

Consultations are typically scheduled for 50 minutes in duration. Longer appointments can be scheduled as needed (e.g., if we are meeting in the community to work on a specific phobia, for clients who travel, for some assessments). The first session is typically longer.

Initial assessment

The first session is scheduled for 80 minutes. This session is focused on me understanding what you seek, considering your options, and determining if I am the best clinician to assist.

Assessments

Please contact me to discuss assessments (e.g., return to work assessment following injury or illness, psychological assessments required for a third party).

Clinical emergencies

If you are concerned for someone's immediate safety, call 111. If you are in need of urgent mental health assistance but safety is not an immediate concern, you can call Te Haika at 0800 745 477 any time day or night. You can learn more about available services here.

Another source of 24/7 support is the national talk line, 1737 (text or call). Other help lines can be found here.

Cancellations, rescheduling, and missed appointments

If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, please provide at least 24 hours notice. Late cancellations will incur a fee.

Ages, stages

I typically work with older adolescents and adults (i.e., 16+ years).

If the work is sleep-specific, I am open to working with younger clients and their families. If you have a question regarding suitability of a potential client, send me a note.
